Presenter Instructions

Oral Presentations

A presentation upload computer will be available throughout the conference for checking your presentation and uploading it to the central server. Presentations must be loaded into the conference server at least two hours prior to the beginning of your session. Once uploaded, your presentation will be available for viewing on the presentation computer in each session room. We recommend checking with your session chair prior to your session to confirm that the presentation loads properly on the session computer. Session chairs will not be able to load presentations during oral sessions.

Presentations may be uploaded from CD, DVD, or USB flash drive. Only Power Point presentations (.ppt) or Adobe Acrobat files (.pdf) will be accepted. We will do our best to accommodate movies used in conjunction with a presentation, but it is impossible to guarantee that they will work properly or display as intended by the author. Specialized codecs or drivers cannot be installed on the presentation computers and speakers will not be allowed to connect personal computers to the session projector.

A PC, projector, laser pointer, and slide advancer will be available in each presentation room. Oral presenters should plan to allow a few minutes of question time within their allotted 15 minutes. Invited speakers should plan for 25 minutes to speak and 5 minutes of question time. Plenary speakers should anticipate 45 minutes of presentation time and 5 minutes of questions.

Poster Presentations

Posters should be no larger than 46" (forty-six inches high) by 94" (ninety-four inches wide). You will need to bring a finished, printed version of your poster. We will not be able to print posters at the conference.

Poster sessions will occur on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Each poster has been assigned a number in the technical program and you will need to mount your poster on the appropriately indexed board at the conference. Posters can be affixed using pins that will be provided. Time is allotted in the schedule to mount the posters in advance of each poster session and there will be both attended and un-attended time to view them. Posters should be attended during the posted session time each day. Manuscripts will not be accepted for publication if a poster is not presented AND attended by a primary author during the allotted session.
